Set Photos of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Although Johnny Depp's casting as the Mad Hatter was only announced recently, Tim Burton has already begun filming his interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. Tons of set photos are already showing up online and they look incredible.

Mia Wasikowska is really bringing the character of Alice to life. The costumes are amazing and the set is breathtaking. The film is currently shooting in Cornwall, England. There is no doubt in my mind that Burton will pull this film off beautifully. His vision is genius and his reputation speaks for itself. His adaptation of Alice in Wonderland will be spectacular.

Some die-hard fans have a problem with a blond, wavy haired Alice, but I think they're just nitpicking the small details. I trust his vision and have great confidence that he will meet the challenge. Hopefully Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland will be closer to the book instead of the butchered version Disney released.

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton Reunite for Alice in Wonderland

Johnny Depp is slated to play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's anticipated adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. This latest news was released by Disney and included films planned over the next two years.

Not surprisingly, Burton has cast his actress wife Helena Bonham Carter as the evil Red Queen. Carter has a habit of turning up in her husbands films so this was expected.

Anne Hathaway, who starred in The Devil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries, plays the White Queen. Hathaway is coming off a difficult year which saw her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, arrested for fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. He faces several years in prison.

Young Britain actors Matt Lucus and David Walliams will be appearing as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.

Burton's new interpretation of Lewis Carol's fantasy will be in 3D using a combination of live action and performance capture CGI. Mia Wasikowska, an Austrialian actor, will star as Alice. Filming of Alice in Wonderland is currently underway in Cornwall and is scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2010.
